Ed Lane joined Smith Planning Group in 2005 as the Director of Engineering. Ed has over a decade of experience in the design and management of civil engineering projects. He has worked in various engineering roles which has enabled him to develop extensive knowledge in a range of related fields. Ed is interested in artful stormwater design, new urbanism, and walkable communities.

As an expert in environmental engineering and design, he has garnered noted experience in the design and implementation of viable engineering solutions. Ed has served as civil engineering project manager on large and complex projects including 100 Prince, Georgia Heights, General Time, Great Waters Golf Course, The Georiga Club, and Chateau Elan. He is licensed in Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, and Florida.
